Running a business isn’t just about invoices and chargeable hours. For me, it’s about people and helping people. That’s why I set up my business and that has always been the driving force behind what I do.
The Problem with “Billable Everything”
Before starting my own business, I worked in companies where every single minute was tracked. Time was money — literally. As an employee, it was draining. As a client, I imagine it must’ve been incredibly frustrating. I remember being told I could only have one 20-minute phone call with a client per week. That was it.
What if they had a question? What if they needed support or a bit of guidance? It didn’t matter — it was all classed as billable. It just felt wrong. And I knew I didn’t want to build a business like that.
People Over Profit
When I launched my own business, I made a clear decision: people come first. I don’t charge clients for questions or five-minute jobs. If something takes me a few minutes, I’ll just do it — no invoice, no fuss. It’s part of the service.
I also don’t charge per phone call. I have clients who call me just for a chat, and that’s absolutely fine. That human connection, that trust — it matters. You can’t put a price on that, and I never try to.
A Better Way to Do Business
I believe in fair pricing, honest work, and doing right by people. I’d rather build long-term relationships than chase short-term profit. I treat clients how I’d want to be treated — with respect, transparency, and flexibility where needed.
If that sounds like the kind of business you want to work with, you’re in the right place.
